By now if you haven’t seen the movie it’s been close to twenty years so I gave you adequate time to watch it if you were going to. He casually brings it up in conversation every few years. My brother still won’t let me live that down how I ruined that movie for him. Months later we were joking around and said “Earmuffs Max.” Remember watching the Sixth Sense for the first time everybody? Now remember back to the moment when you realized that Bruce Willis was dead. A mix of her dad Ken and her grandfather Eddy. A fun fact about her is her daughter’s name is Kennedy. She is his Godmother and should probably know his christened name. Is it Maxwell or Max?” Well I guess if you want to get technical it is Maxwell. A few days later she said “I thought his name was Max. My best friend called and we updated her on the stats- sex, weight, name etc. We just started calling him Max and it fit. I do remember Talledaga Nights being on the evening he was born when we were contemplating names. I don’t believe we were watching old school in the hospital when our son was born. We agreed to disagree for the time being. I love Max how about Max? My husband said cool but he would need to be Maximus or Maximillian. Months before when we were tossing names around the name Max came up. Not sure why at the time we just started calling him Max. We tried to call him Joe a few times and it just didn’t fit. After Max was born he just didn’t look like a Joe. We also didn’t have a name but we had it narrowed down to a few. We didn’t know if we were having a boy or a girl. It is still one of our favorite movies, right up there with Office Space.įlash forward to eight years later. I’m not exaggerating when I say this was a highlight of our trip. I believe the movie was still in the theaters at the time. We rented the movie Old School in our hotel room. One of the nights we went back to our hotel to relax. Then he quickly added “No but not at night” like we were crazy. We asked the waiter “Is it safe to walk around here?” Oh sure it’s safe he said. We were looking out at the street and wondering if we should take a walk. We checked into the Holiday Inn and had dinner in the restaurant at street level. Nope we went to where all newly weds flock.
How cool is it that we had our wedding reception at Whitey’s? Shortly after dinner we left for our honeymoon. The fact that I only saw my husband for a total of about five minutes (exaggeration but still) during our wedding reception reinforced our decision to have a small wedding.Īfter our small outdoor wedding we had a nice dinner at Whitey’s with a few members of family, friends and our parents.

Plus I got to wear my wedding dress twice so the total cost per wearing was around $100 dollars (bonus). Which was super fun by the way despite, or maybe due to, the location.
We did have a large reception at a local dive bar/restaurant back home a few months later. I still feel a little bad about this but we were broke at the time and didn’t want to spend a ton of money, that we didn’t have, on a wedding. Most of our family and friends were not there. My husband and I got married shortly after he graduated from college.
